Shortlisted for IPSE Award
On a whim, the last day that nominations were open, I decided to enter myself into the IPSE Freelancer Awards because, well, what’s that worse that could happen?!
The IPSE is the association for independent practitioners and self-employed, the only non-profit to provide legal advice and insurance specifically tailored for those who work for themselves. According to the IPSE, the awards celebrate the “best and brightest UK freelancers – as well as the people and businesses who do most to support the self-employed community. They champion freelancers and recognise innovation and excellence in the self-employed community.”
Then, last week I was gobsmacked to receive an email saying I have been shortlisted in the New Freelancer category. If it wasn’t for me being at a client’s office, I would have likely spat my coffee across the room, or worse!
I will be pitching for an award via a virtual presentation on 10th September before attending the awards ceremony on 14th October. Regardless of the outcome, I am looking forward to meeting all the shortlisted candidates and connecting with other self-employed people.
A huge thank you goes out to all my clients who I have worked with over the past nine months, many of whom took a punt on me when I first started out. I love my job and working with every single one of you.
